DONT BRING A DOG, 1997 Dokumentation- Hi8/75 min Dont Bring A Dog zeigt einen Teil der in den 80er Jahren verwurzelten New Yorker Underground Musik Szene, die abseits von MTV und den kommerziellen Charts existiert. Der Film ist kein Starportrait, er versucht vielmehr, das Selbstverhältnis von Bands und Musikern und ihre künstlerischen Funktionsweise innerhalb der Szene zu reflektieren. Durch den Verzicht auf Kommentare und Hintergrundinformationen entsteht so eine Collage aus Interviews, Geräuschen und Stadtansichten. Mit Interviews, Performances und Musik von: Holy Cow, Thurston Moore, Foetus, Congo Norvell, Factory Press, Morning Glories, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Lee Ranaldo, Kid Congo Powers and Little Annie. Dont Bring A Dog shows a part of the in the 1980´s rooted New York underground music scene which still exists far removed from MTV and the commercial charts. The film is not a portrait of a star but attempts much more. It looks at the way bands and musicians view themselves and at the structures within the scene. By avoiding a commentary and background information, it presents a collage made up of interviews, sounds and city panoramas. "It´s not like writing a popsong and have it played on the fucking radio!"
